The following is a brief description from the Pierre’s Hole 50/100 MTB Race Event promoter:
You’ll have a hard time keeping your eyes on the trail as the racecourse is located at the base of the Tetons with some amazing views and the trail crosses fields of wildflowers, old-growth trees, and aspens. The course is not super technical but it also doesn’t give you many areas to relax. One new section of trail is called “38 special” because it has 38 bermed turns that you get to rail around!
Pierre’s Hole, once known for fur trade in the Northern Rockies, has always been a test of endurance, fortitude, and strength. Pierre’s Hole 50/100 will provide an incredible experience to the fortunate souls entered in this epic journey. The racecourse views are breathtaking, the singletrack is longer and better than ever, and you will be tested by the rugged terrain. Staging for the race begins at the Grand Targhee Resort, where ample lodging and amenities await racers and their families.
