The following is a brief description from the Stokesville Strade Event promoter:

Strade Bianche is an Italian gravel road race held in the region of Tuscany, Italy. This event is famous for its rough roads and cobblestone streets. Thus the Stokesville Strade has been born! The Stokesville Strade is Stokesville Va’s premier gravel road grinder. Routes will showcase a great variety of gravel, dirt and pavement. With rolling Shenandoah Valley roads, this is a great early season event.

The route will take riders on a scenic 32 mile (50K) journey past historical landmarks and by majestic Shenandoah Valley farms rich in Civil War history. Ride options are 50K (1 lap) or 100K (2 laps).  The fasters riders on the day will be dubbed the “Italian Stallion” and the “Ciao Bella”.

Please see the Stokesville Strade Event website for more. Shenandoah Mountain Touring hosts several unpaved events. Search the Event promoter website or The Hub for “Shenandoah Mountain Touring” to see the other events.
